Description

MiLoPhoto was designed with a digital camera owner in mind, however, there are numerous features in MiLoPhoto that are very useful to a wide audience.

After returning from a great holiday, you come home and plug the camera into the computer. The images are transferred to the computer's harddisk, and of course, you want to start viewing them rightaway. A few of these photos look great, and you just want to make a few paper copies to give to family, or to take to work. Of course, you want your friends in Australia to see how much fun you had, so you quickly generate a HTML photo album with MiLoPhoto's Export which you place on the internet rightaway.

For your personal archive, you add some descriptive text to the images, so you can easily find them with the search function. Also, a few people on the photos taken with a flashlight have red eyes, which you also fix in the Edit form.

And to preserve this album for eternity, you also create a self-running CD with just a few clicks.

Features

...and how do I do common tasks with MiLoPhoto?

Viewing

Just push enter after selecting a thumbnail image to display a full-screen view. In this view, you can page through the images, zoom in to interesting parts, rotate the image with a single keypress.

While viewing, interpolation is used to improve the image quality. This prevents a "blocky" appearance when enlarging images, and also prevents "aliasing" when zooming out.

Searching

Now where's that picture I took last year with grandma and our kitten in the chair in the garden? MiLoPhoto can find that picture. Just let it search for images with both grandma and the kitten on it, which were taken in the garden.

Printing

Just open the print view, and add images to it. Collect images from all over the system, there's no need to be tidy.

Now pressing "Print" will take you to the print images form. Here you can set how to distribute your images across the pages, and how many are to be put on a single sheet of paper. Printing four images on a single sheet is a breeze with MiLoPhoto!

Export images

Three major functions are hiding in Export. With the export functions in MiLoPhoto, you can organize your photo collection, create a self-running CD with pictures to share with your family and friends, and build a HTML page set from your album that you can put on the Internet so that your friends from the other side of the globe can view all those great snapshots.

Edit images

With the edit function, you add attributes to the photo image, which are stored inside the original photo file (without altering the image itself). In this form you can reduce the "red eye" effect caused by flashlight, you can set a "region of interest" which is used when viewing and printing, and you can add a name, description, date/time, location and list of "actors" appearing in the photo, which are used when searching. If your digital camera already added some of these attributes, like the date and time the picture was taken, they'll be recognized and used by MiLoPhoto as well.
